Of the guitars to learn, the acoustic guitar is one of the easiest. Once you have mastered the art of the acoustic guitar, then you can progress onto the more intricate guitars. Also, in the long run, it works out to be cheaper as the parts do not cost so much as an electric guitar would. This guitar is also easier to carry around, as you do not have to carry around a heavy amplifier.
The acoustic bass guitar has four strings, comprising the notes E, A, D and G. You can even get a six-string version of this guitar, which is an octave higher than that of the four-string guitar. The guitar is made out of a hollow body, usually oak or pine. The strings are usually made out of nylon or steel. The player strokes the strings over the hollow and presses down on the strings at the neck to produce notes. Most people use a plectrum, especially if they are using a steel stringed instrument as this reduces the calluses of the fingers.
The basics of learning to play the guitar are simple. There are people who have learnt to play without any formal lessons. Some people claim all they did was watch and listen. They then copied what the other person did. The only problem with this method is that you cannot see where and if you go wrong with your technique. The first thing to do is to simply strum the instrument, this way you first learn the feel of the instrument. Next thing to do is move your hand that you are using to support the neck up and down, listening to the difference in pitch. Then try and press down on the different strings while strumming, listening to the different pitches and notes you can make. You can see how the different placements can produce sounds.
From there you must try out different chords. There are plenty of books on the market. They have everything that a guitar player needs in any skill range, from beginner to advanced. A lot of people find that learning to play the guitar is a daunting experience and give up before getting anywhere. Unfortunately, you will not be able to learn how to become a guitar pro overnight, but it will not take long to get the basics down. It just takes perseverance.
One of the prettiest guitars to learn is the Mexican Baja sexto. It has six strings and produces a sound equivalent to that of a twelve-string guitar tuned to a lesser octave. It is an incredibly light guitar with heavy gauge strings that produce a bigger string tension. The guitarron is a very big, deep hollowed guitar. This is the famous guitar used by Mariachi bands, and has six strings.
No matter what type of guitar you eventually buy, you will be rewarded with the beautiful sounds you can produce. When you play the guitar, you can express yourself in ways you never knew you could.
